Paul Georgescu of Romania has completed two hard swims in 2020 – both completely different. He first set a Zero Ice Mile record in Hanusee Bay in Antarctica in 0.6°C water as part of the Antarctica 2020 International Swim, completing the mile in 22 minutes 44 seconds last February.
Then, he started to train for a Century Swim much closer to home.
He completed a 104 km Iron Gates of the Danube Swim in August that took him 21 hours 40 minutes. His swim started in Moldova Nouă at 4:38 am and finished at 2:18 am the following morning in Orsova, Romania.
