Swimmers To Your Mark…In Shanghai

FINA announced its officials for the 5K, 10K, 25K and 5K Team Pursuit races at its 2011 World Swimming Championships in Shanghai in July.

The international body of officials are drawn from some of the most qualified and experienced individuals in the sport who are willing to travel and help support the elite levels. They man escort boats, oversee turns, serve as the Clerk of Course, check swimsuits, assist with the timing system and help administer the myriad functions that are required in elite international open water swimming competitions. And they do so quietly, professionally and objectively.

The list of officials in Shanghai includes the following individuals:

Maria Stella Carrara (AUS), Hector Cornejo (ECU), Magdy Farid (EGY), Hestoy Jon (FAR), Leung Chak Choi (HKG), Daniela Maddaloni (ITA), Paul Matson (NZL), Abdul Monem Al Alawi (OMA), Amador Antonio (POR), Ingold Rolf (SUI), Mike Saltzstein (USA), Elena Osete (ESP), Mei Zhang (CHN), Jiancheng Xu (CHN), Jiaqian Yuan (CHN), Qingzhu Cao (CHN), Min Hua (CHN), Xiaoguang Yu (CHN), Hong Ji (CHN), Yucheng Zhou (CHN) and Youhua Gu (CHN).
