Swimmers Are Bullish On A Bear Of A Swim

Like the famed Loch Ness in Scotland and Lake Memphremagog that stretching from Quebec, Canada to Vermont, USA, legend has it that there is a monster of sorts that lives in Bear Lake, located on the border of Utah and Idaho.

Monster or not, the swimmers in the annual 7-mile Bear Lake Monster Swim performed well and safely completed the swim.

Gordon Gridley explains, “Bear Lake could be considered a twin of the well-known Lake Tahoe in many ways. This year’s winner, Deni Cullom smashed the record with a time of 2 hours 19 minutes.

There were 21 new soloists this year. That is pretty impressive considering there were only 39 people having ever swam the width of Bear Lake before this year’s race.”
