Michael Wells has been swimming on behalf of his sister Susan since he passed away in 2017.

In 2018, he swam breaststroke 6 km across Darwin Harbour in Australia to raise money for breast cancer research.

But he upped his game to 40.2 km on February 9th when he became the first person to swim breaststroke across Lake Taupo, the largest lake in New Zealand. It was a long, painful 20 hour 10 minute neoprened crossing, but he successfully did it to support the Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand.
