Acclaimed painter and open water swimmer Craig Baskin created the painting “Port-au-Prince HOPE” after the large earthquake that hit Haiti in 2010.  The painting was auctioned at the Save The Children Gala to help support an emergency medical team from California who traveled to and treated thousands of people in Haiti.  Generous art collectors purchased it and re-donated the work to the Eisenhower Medical Center in Ranch Mirage, California for display in their permanent collection.

Amid the nearly incomprehensible destruction in Japan, Craig is dedicating another work to the relief efforts in Japan.

 “100% of the proceeds will go to help the Japanese people whose sea, coast, and inland have been devastated by an earthquake and tsunami. The 36″ x 36″ Asian-inspired work is titled SUKI WAVES – translated as “to like the waves” – and is valued at US$5,400.  It is my hope that this small gesture raises funds and inspires others to help our fellow inhabitants of our fragile and shared earth.”
