Sprint Breaststrokers at the IISA 6th World Championship to Race in 1.3° Water

On Day 3 of the IISA 6th World Championship in Molveno, Italy, the world’s fastest sprint breaststrokers will showcase their talents in the 50m pool in 1.3°C water.

The seeded women under 40 seconds in the 50m breaststroke include 14-year-old Frankie Jackson of Great Britain (32.00, IISA bio here), 20-year-old Christina Gockeln of Germany (38.00, IISA bio here), 20-year-old Smaragda Luchia Sarana of Estonia (39.00, IISA bio here), 22-year-old Lili May Mustoe of Great Britain (39.17, IISA bio here), 23-year-old Zoe Ducret of France (38.74, IISA bio here), 25-year-old Marion Joffle of France (39.58, IISA bio here), 29-year-old Victoria Forsman of Sweden (34.03, IISA bio here), 28-year-old Franziska Partheymüller of Germany (38.65, IISA bio here), and 30-year-old Mariah Reading of the USA (37.06, IISA bio here).

The current women’s world record is held by France’s Marion Joffle is 38.01 set at the IISA 3rd World Championships held in Murmansk, Russia in 2019.

On the men’s side in the 50m breaststroke race, the following men are entered with times under 35 seconds: 19-year-old Adrian Nae of Romania (30.08, IISA bio here), 19-year-old Vladimir Romaniuc of Romania (32.77, IISA bio here), 27-year-old Mariyan Nedkov of Bulgaria (33.02, IISA bio here), 24-year-old Kilian Franke of Germany (34.84, IISA bio here), 28-year-old Michal Perl of Poland (31.83, IISA bio here), 32-year-old Mateusz Kolodziejski of Poland (31.05, IISA bio here), 37-year-old Tomasz Kosmalski of Poland (31.08, IISA bio here), and 38-year-old Markus Manthalter of Switzerland (33.00, IISA bio here).

The current world record is held by 34-year-old Przemyslaw Gorczyca of Poland (IISA bio here) in 31.50 set at the IISA 1st European Championship in February 2024.

The finals of the women’s and men’s 50m breaststroke will be held at the end of the afternoon session on Day 3.
