Shadia El Rageb On WOWSA Live

Shadia El Rageb was the dominant professional marathon swimmer in the early 1970’s when she was inducted in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame as an Honor Swimmer in the Class of 1971.

She discussed her career with Ned Denison on today’s edition of WOWSA Live.

She won multiple races in Turkey and Bulgaria before winning the 36 km Maratona del Golfo Capri-Napoli in Italy in 1971 and 1972, the two years that she also was crowned the World Professional Marathon Swimming Federation champion. She also won the 24 Heures La Tuque relay in Québec, Canada.
