S.C.A.R. Day One In Saguaro

Courtesy of WOWSA, Huntington Beach, California.

Day One at the 4-day stage swim, S.C.A.R. Swim Challenge, in Arizona was held across Saguaro, a 9.5-mile (15.2 km) course at 1529-feet (466m) elevation.

The growing wind gusts gradually made conditions tougher as the race went on.

Two young guns – Jacob Miyauchi and Cole Gindhart – led dozens of marathon and channel swimming veterans including International Marathon Swimming Hall of Famer Elizabeth Fry who decided that one-way 9.5-mile course was just not enough.
