Swimming with large hand paddles and with neoprene is always easier than swimming in an unassisted manner.
But doing so tied to a partner, with shoes, and then going for a bunch of arduous mountaineering runs, separated by a bunch of open water swims…that kind of event is a total different story.
That is the Rockman SwimRun (@rockmanswimrun).
The next Rockman SwimRun will be held on July 5th in Lysefjorden, Norway.
There is at the long 40 km course that includes 9 fjord swims of 6.5 km in total in water between 11 to 17°C, plus 9 runs of 34.5 km in total with a 2600 meter elevation gain plus tackling Flørli 4444 Stairs over 750 meters, and climbing the Pulpit Rock at 604 meters. It is limited to 62 two-person tandem teams.
There is also the shorter 20 km course that includes 6 fjord swims of 2500 meters in total in water between 11 to 17°C, plus 7 runs of 17 km in total with a 1200 meter elevation gain covering Hidden Paths and Pulpit Rock at 604 meters.
