As the six Night Train Swimmers get ready for their 30-mile Farallones Island swim this Saturday, team captain Vito Bialla is confident of good weather to calm the turbulent ocean west of San Francisco Bay, “I’m optimistic fog and drizzle will move in with cooler weather inland as the Farmer’s Almanac predicted. Once all this blows through, it will take a breather and calm down.”

We are also hoping for a red sky at night, a traditional mariner’s adage that means when the setting sun is sending its light through a high concentration of dust particles, it usually indicates high pressure and stable air coming in and basically good weather will follow.
