It was another great race between three pre-race Olympic medal favorites today in Balatonfüred – Kikötő, Hungary.
Italian Rachele Bruni, German Isabelle Härle, and American Haley Anderson went head-to-head on the third leg of the FINA/HOSA 10 km Marathon Swimming World Cup in Lake Balaton today.
Other Olympians were also in the race including Ana Marcela Cunha (BRA), Poliana Okimoto Cintra (BRA), Éva Risztov (HUN), and Joanna Zachoszcz (POL).
“I came fourth last year now I managed to win and this makes me really satisfied,” Bruni said. ”Here I raced against six or seven girls who will also be present in Rio so I could meet with some of my greatest rivals, this is also really important. And it was an honor to race against Eva Risztov, the Olympic champion at her home and to finish ahead of her is a huge accomplishment for me, though I know she had everything to retain her title in Rio.”
