Plasticity is a unique event at the Hilton Anaheim on May 9th that was created by Hong Kong-based open water swimming event director Doug Woodring who was inspired to help clean up the world’s oceans when he was first engulfed in plastic refuse on a diving trip.

“We convene global experts from across the plastic spectrum to share experiences on opportunities and challenges with plastic sustainability and inclusion in the circular economy, thus bringing about the large scale changes that are required in order to reduce its waste impacts. The event offers a big conversation on the future of plastic and discusses where opportunities can be created related to recycled content, resource recovery, job creation and waste reduction.”

The event is held within the annual ANTEC event in Anaheim.

“The objective of this forum, now in its sixth year, with events in Rio, Hong Kong, New York, Portugal, Shanghai and London, is to bring together many aspects of the business community who are often not interacting with experts in the plastic industry for design, materials, innovation and solutions that can lead to a reduced waste footprint. The more that business managers understand the complexities which are associated with plastic vis-à-vis materials, processes and recycled content, the more chances there will be to make big impacts in reducing the waste footprint associated with plastic products, and where improvements can positively impact the products and brands they work with.”
