Alice Gartland is the Contributing Editor to the rebranded open water swimming magazine, Outdoor Swimmer.

Outdoor Swimmer Magazine founder and publisher Simon Griffiths describes Gartland [shown below], “From your first 25 meters to long distance solo swims and relays, effective pool and land training, winter dips and wild swim adventures, Alice is passionate about all aspects of outdoor swimming, and enabling others to enjoy the water as well as raising awareness and helping find solutions to the social and environmental issues that are so entwined with our love of water.

She is a qualified swim teacher and founder of A Lotus Rises, the Women’s Swimming Collective on a mission to increase visibility, access and participation of women in swimming and Senior Fellow at the International Institute for Swim Cake Studies.

Her swims include a four-woman English Channel relay, the Solent between the Isle of Wight from the mainland of England, the Big Swim from Palm Beach to Whale Beach in Queensland, Australia, and competing in the International Winter Swimming Championships in China. She’s equally happy splashing in tarns, or hanging out with swim buddies and eating cake at Tooting Lido and the Serpentine.”

Gartland joins Griffiths, editor Jonathan Crowie, talented writers and photographers, and supported by the marketing team of Sharon Woods, Lorna Manley and Stuart Churchill to produce monthly issues of the world’s most comprehensive, authoritative open water swimming publication.
