Oh Man O Man Across The Irish Sea

An elite team of extreme swimmers started tonight on their attempt to become the first successful 70 km relay across the Irish Sea between the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland.

If there is any team of extreme adventurers ready for this crossing, it is the hardened and experienced sextet of Olive Conroy (Ireland), Conor Turner (Ireland), Elina Makïnen (Finland), Anna-Carin Nordin (Sweden), Rory Fitzgerald (Ireland), and Carole Laporte (Isle of Man).

Escorted by Pádraig Mallon of Infinity Channel Swimming, the team started on Fenella Beach in Peel on the Isle of Man tonight at 5:55 pm and is hoping the water warms to 12-13°C.

The team can be tracked here.
