At least one Hollywood star is considering the open water. Katie Holmes, lead attress in the movie The Romantics and wife of Tom Cruise, may entr the Coney Island Polar Bear Club’s ice dip in the Atlantic on New Year’s Day.

“I can appreciate [diving into cold water] because there is a thrill aspect, so I’m glad I did it [for the movie], but I still can’t feel anything anymore because it was so cold! I don’t need to do it again. I feel like we did it and it was thrilling.

But when I see the Polar Bear people now, I think it’s cool. I might do it once (more). It’s good for your circulation.”
