Mo Siegel, the successful president of Ice Air in Mount Vernon, New York, has an aggressive marathon swimming schedule this summer: the Tampa Bay Marathon Swim, Manhattan Island Marathon Swim, Boston Light Swim, Catalina Channel one-way solo and the Ederle Swim.
“I am swimming the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim on June 18th to raise at least US$5,000 for Swim Free,” explained Mo.
“Perhaps you remember your first experiences in the water – pool, ocean, lake, river — and I hope you look back with fondness at the wonder, excitement and refreshment that being in the water provides. Swim Free gets kids who otherwise would have no access to local pools – or even bathing suits and goggles – started and comfortable in the water. With increased cutbacks in recreation funding, it’s great that Swim Free is stepping in to provide this opportunity.”
Mo has made it easy to donate, “Just go to my Swim Free donation page, and fill out the information on the page.”
With the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim, an English Channel solo, the Ederle Swim and the Coney Island Veterans Day Swim under his cap in 2010, Mo is truly stepping it up in the open water in 2011.
