Minocqua Island Swim Challenge is a 400m and 1-mile lake swim held in Minocqua Lake in northern Oneida County, Wisconsin on June 29th.

Race director Laura Fuhrman says, “The Oneida County Public Safety Dive Team has 10 divers who respond to emergencies across more than a thousand lakes and 74,000 acres of water each year in the state of Wisconsin.

The Minocqua Island Swim Challenge is the primary means of fundraising for the dive team. All the money raised from the event is used to assist the team in updating and purchasing the equipment they need.”

Dive Team Leader Ryan Rossing is interviewed here about the services that he and his team offers when responding to all water-related emergencies 24 hours per day 7 days per week.
