Michael Twigg-Smith Talks About The Molokai Channel On WOWSA Live
Sponsored by KAATSU Global, Molokai Channel, Hawaii.
Hawaii resident Michael Twigg-Smith has escorted paddlers, paddlers and swimmers across the 42 km Molokai Channel for years, facing winds, ocean swells and shark encounters along the way.
The experienced boat captain gives a hint of the challenges and equipment used in his profession on today’s edition of WOWSA Live with host Steven Munatones.
Drone footage by Mike Scott shows a pod of curious pilot whales visiting with Maine swimmer Pat Gallant-Charette and her escort crew during her solo crossing of the Molokai Channel from Molokai Island en route to Oahu in Hawaii.
Mike Scott said, “While out filming from Molokai to Oahu, the pod of pilot whales came to check out our swimmer. I launched my drone and started filming. When I took a look at the footage on the computer, I noticed something very interesting in the whale’s mouth – a piece of the squid.”
