The Low Country Splash is South Carolina’s premiere open water swim held on June 1st this year.

The 6-mile race (previously 5 miles) starts on Daniel Island while the 2.4-mile race starts at Hobcaw Yacht Club. Both swims take place along the shore line of Daniel Island in Charleston Harbor, Mount Pleasant as swimmers swim under the Cooper River Bridge and finish at the USS Yorktown.

Co-race directors Mark and Mirjam Rutledge explain, “Over 500 swimmers from 36 states and 5 countries participated last year in the fundraiser for the Lowcountry Aquatic Project Swimming that aims to drown-proof all kindergarten and 1st grade students in the Charleston County area.”
