Linsy Heister of the Netherland was selected as one of the European Aquatic Athletes of the Year for 2010 by the European Swimming Federation (LEN) and LEN Magazine.
Italy’s Valerio Cleri won the male Athlete of the Year
The 22-year-old Dutchwoman is gaining more and more confidence as she won two titles this summer: a gold medal in the 25K at World Open Water Swimming Championships and another gold medal in the 10K at the always competitive European Championships.
Valerio Cleri won four medals at the World Open Water Swimming Championships in Canada and the European Championships in Hungary. Valerio won the 10K race at the world championships and took European title in the 25K. He also won two silver medals in the world championship 25K and European 10K.
