Before and after photos of 10-year-old Reina Lileikis and her father Joe Lileikis at today’s Waikiki Roughwater Swim.

The 10-year-old made her 2.4-mile ocean swim debut, swimming side-by-side with her father, a two-time Waikiki Roughwater Swim champion in 1981 and 1982 when he was a college freshman and sophomore at the University of Hawaii.

Brother and uncle Tom Lileikis also competed, finishing 12th overall in 1:09:14.

Also, 11-year-old Kai Flanagan also made her Waikiki Roughwater Swim debut, swimming with her father John Flanagan and finishing 13th overall among the women. Dad is a former Auburn University swimmer who coaches Kamehameha Swim Club with his brother Kevin for many years. John also twice won the Waikiki Roughwater Swim in 2000 and 2001 and was a member of the USA National Open Water Swim Team who finished fourth at the 2001 FINA World Championships 10K.
