Renowitzky was paralyzed after being shot in San Francisco by a man who robbed him of US$20. The Ekso GT™ robotic exoskeleton bionic suit helps survivors of stroke, spinal cord injury and other forms of lower extremity weakness to walk again.
“We will swim a relay in San Francisco Bay on September 6th – 300 miles (482 km) of non-stop swimming – hopefully to raise enough money to buy Arthur a suit [to enable him to walk].”

Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” This is precisely what Arthur Renowitzky is doing and what the Night Train Swimmers are trying to help him with.
