Australian Lachlan Hinds had something to smile about this month. He became the youngest person in history to successfully completed the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.
At 16, he completed the English Channel on July 5th 2012 in 12 hours 32 minutes. At 17, he completed the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim on June 8th 2013 in 7 hours 20 minutes.
At 18, he completed the Triple Crown with a Catalina Channel crossing on August 6th 2014 in 9 hours 31 minutes.
3 up, 3 down. 1-2-3. Hinds executed flawlessly a 3-year plan.
The teenager not only became the youngest person in the world to join the pantheon of marathon swimming greats, but he is also the youngest Australian male to swim the English Channel and the fifth Australian to complete the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming as he studies Medical Science at university.
The Bondi Surf Life Saver and swim coach from Normanthrust packs a lot of goals and activities in his daily life and is well-positioned to continue achieving unusual and difficult feats.
