Kristian O’Donovan Completes Triple Crown, Grand Slam

Kristian O’Donovan is a 38-year-old Irish open water swimmer from Glenbeigh, Kerry. He successfully completed a 32.3 km crossing of the Catalina Channel yesterday in 10 hours 45 minutes.

When he stepped on the Southern California shoreline, he completed not only the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming, but also the Grand Slam of Open Water Swimming.

In 2015, he completed a crossing of the English Channel from England to France in 13 hours 48 minutes. In 2017, he completed the 37 km Tampa Bay Marathon Swim in Florida in 11 hours 32 minutes and finished 6th in the 45.9 km 20 Bridges Manhattan Swim in New York City in 7 hours 45 minutes.
