Kimberley Chambers was nominated in New Zealand for the Halberg Awards as its Sportswoman of the Year.
The 53rd Halberg Awards, a recognition of athletes from New Zealand on the world stage, is New Zealand’s pre-eminent event to recognize, honor and celebrate sporting excellence and raise funds for disabled athletes.
Chambers did not make the final cut of four for the Sportswoman award, but she was typically gracious and appreciative. “I was not selected; however, even being nominated in the first place is a tremendous honor for me personally.”
For her Farallons swim and a body of work in the world’s ocean to be recognized is an honor indeed.
