Kim Swims In The Dead Sea

Tomorrow morning shortly before dawn at 7 am (Jersusalem time on November 15th), Kimberley Chambers, the protagonist of the documentary KIM SWIMS, will swim across the Dead Sea as a member of a team of 28 open water swimmers in a quest to pioneer a 16 km swim across the Dead Sea.

We will set out in a flotilla of boats from the Israeli side for an hour long journey to reach the starting point of our swim on the Jordanian shore. Wearing specially designed full facial masks to prevent the ingestion of the potentially fatal high salinity water, we will swim in pods according to speed. We expect this journey to take each swimmer approximately 8-10 hours of non-stop swimming.”

Chambers writes more about this unprecedented border crossing here. “You can track our progress across the Dead Sea live here.

I would be most grateful if you could follow along and send positive thoughts to each of us as we push the boundaries of our mental and physical boundaries in this challenging body of water. I feel tremendously honored and proud to be a part of this amazing team.”
