The Marathon Swimmers Federation posted information about Karl Kingery‘s unprecedented 32.2 km (20-mile) solo swim across Yellowstone Lake in the state of Wyoming.

Despite warning signs are posted at the marinas warning visitors of possible death in an estimated 20 minutes due to the cold waters, Kingery pioneered the 10 hour 19 minute crossing with escort pilot Justin Whaley and observer/kayaker Pareesa Goshtasebi in water that ranged from 15°-16.6°C at an elevation of 7,730 feet (2,356 meters).
