Julian Critchlow updated his thoroughly researched and authoritative Solo English Channel Swim database with the successful swims from the 2010 season. “A lot of changes have been made,” wrote Critchlow to the English Channel swimming community.
“I have incorporated all swims recognised in recent lists from the Channel Swimming and Piloting Federation and the Channel Swimming Association – complete with a few inconsistencies.
I record all entries using a simple colour code system – white is data from the Ratifying Organisation or other web sources, yellow is where I have contacted a swimmer and am awaiting confirmation of details and green is where the swimmer has responded to update their entry. I welcome any further email addresses for swimmers in white.”
Critchlow himself is on the list with his 14 hour 8 minute England-to-France crossing in 2004 when he took an 8-month sabbatical to train for his swim which raised £18,000 for Diabetes UK and £4,000 for the Ide Hill School Governors Appeal.
