Joe Zemaitis does not waste any time – and crafted a lifestyle to achieve his life’s goals.
The 40-year-old from the state of Arizona is a successful competitive swim coach (Swim Neptune), an accomplished triathlete (7 Ironman Triathlons), an author (Joe’s Rules), an Iron Iceman and an Ice Miler, a world record holder (Hawaii Ironman Triathlon 19U record), and the founder of the Foundation for Aquatic Safety and Training. He has a remarkable number of athletic achievements:
Zemaitis obviously likes swimming in three’s:
* he achieved the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming in 2017
* he was the first person in history to complete the Triple Crown of Stage Swims in 2019
* he swam the three channels between Maui, Lanai and Molokai in Hawaii on three successive days in the 2019 Au I Na Mokupuni Ekolu Endurance Challenge Invitational
* he completed the California Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming (Catalina Channel + Santa Barbara Channel + Lake Tahoe)
He also does swims in two’s:
* he completed a tandem swim with brother John Zemaitis of the Loch Ness in Scotland in 2018
* he completed a tandem two-way crossing with brother John Zemaitis of the Sea of Galilee in Israel
* he raced with his brother John Zemaitis and Jim Loreto in the 91.8 km 40 Bridges Swim, a double circumnavigation swim of Manhattan Island in 19 hours 37 minutes in 2020 – after warming up for 3 hours
