Is It Big Enough To Matter? Is It Small Enough To Win? Yes!

In the United States, skeptics of man-made global warming and climate change are as passionate and critical of scientists and activists who study and warn about these global effects.
President Trump has often talked about climate change, including an interview with CBS on 60 Minutes when he said, “I think something’s happening. Something’s changing and it’ll change back again. I don’t think it’s a hoax. I think there’s probably a difference. But I don’t know that it’s man-made. I will say this: I don’t want to give trillions and trillions of dollars. I don’t want to lose millions and millions of jobs.”
The president’s influence over his followers and fans, as well as over corporations and government agencies, is quite significant. As Skeptical Science writes, “Skeptics vigorously criticize any evidence that supports man-made global warming and yet embrace any argument, op-ed, blog or study that purports to refute global warming.”
What are the skeptics saying in defense of their position?

* Antarctica is gaining ice

* Humans are too insignificant to affect global climate
But United Nations Patron of the Oceans and International Marathon Swimming Hall of Famer Lewis Pugh is on the opposite side of the arguments and opinions cited by the climate change skeptics – and is always struggling, planning and moving forward to reverse mankind’s decisions and actions that cause climate change.
From swimming in a glacial lake on Mount Everest to swimming in the North Pole, Pugh has gone to the extremes to appeal to people and media and government leaders around the world.
His goal for 2020 is to complete an unprecedented Ice Kilometer in a supraglacial lake that sits on top of the ice tundra in East Antarctica on January 22nd.

Pugh explained why he chose a supraglacial lake to stage his next challenge, “We make decisions [on where to swim] based on the answer to two questions: Is it big enough to matter and is it small enough to win?” Given his goal to seek support by the governments of Russia and China on matters related to Antarctica, his Antarctic lake swim presents a positive yes to both his questions.
Pugh is also looking for training partners to join him in the Outer Hebrides off the west coast of Scotland. The training will be held between December 29th 2019 and January 8th 2020.
