The International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame (IMSHOF) induction ceremonies are traditionally held in the autumn, but we are making a permanent move to the spring,” announced Ned Denison. “A location near London is ideally located for nearly 50 Honourees who are less than 6 hours drive away.

For 2017, the ceremonies and a 3-course dinner will take place on April 22nd 2017. The venue is the stunning Chapel at the Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor, England – close to Heathrow Airport.”

To register, visit here.

The hotel has reserved a block of rooms at a discounted rate Saturday of £89 for double occupancy including breakfast. Participants can call +44 1753 640000 and ask for a room in the Beaumont Estate quoting IMSHOF. There is free parking available.

On April 23rd, there will be an IMSHOF Congress with no fee involved. All attendees from the Induction Ceremony are welcome. Other local Inductees or committee members of Honour Organisations unable to attend the evening session will be welcome depending on space.” Requests for special invitations can be made to Denison via

The goals of the IMSHOF Congress are to (1) meet the Executive Committee and other members of the Voting Panel in an informal setting, (2) better understand the organisation, (3) gain insight into the policies and thinking behind recent difficult topics such as failing a WADA-type performance enhancing drug test, swim costumes of longer size*, buoyancy and compression, and (4) provide feedback on these and other topics.

Finally, participation on the promotion and activities of the IMSHOF, the Executive Committee and Voting Panels is not restricted to a few members. New assistance and representation is always needed – your attendance and participation will make clear your interest.”

* Techsuits are/were used by some current male and female Honourees and jammers used by many male inductees that do not fall in line with the IMSHOF swimsuit guidelines.
