International Ice Swimming Association Growth & Future

Ram Barkai, founder of the International Ice Swimming Association, made a number of announcements yesterday about the growth, potential and future of ice swimming around the globe.

He gave myriad details about the 2019 Ice Swimming World Championships that will be held in March 2019 in Murmansk, Russia including the expanded number of spots open for the 1 km signature championship race as well as an announcement of the new board members, explanation of the new IISA logo, and the country-specific spots available at the 2019 world championships.

Qualifications for the Ice Kilometer at the 2019 world championships include all swimmers must complete a qualification 1 km ice swim under 25 minutes or alternatively an Ice Mile under 40 minutes and become a member of the International Ice Swimming Association before January 15th 2019.
