Rachel Sims (known as Rae Sims) was one of the individuals who completed the 2.5 nautical mile swim from Stokes Bay to Ryde Sands as part of the Solent Swim Challenge in aid of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust on the Isle of Wight.

“Sims only took up open water swimming recently,” describes race organiser Anna Wardley.

“She decided to take on a challenge to get back into fitness after having her second child.” The 35-year-old lives in Hackney, London and is a footwear designer when she is not exploring beyond the shorelines.
