Haley Anderson Preparing For Barcelona

If there was any place ideal to relax, the Cayman Islands is it.

One week for the USA World Championship (pool) Trials for the 2013 World Championships in Barcelona, and 5 weeks before she represents the United States in the 5 km open water race, Haley Anderson is fine-tuning her navigational skills and distance work on Grand Cayman Island before next week’s 200m butterfly, 400m individual medley, 400m freestyle, 800m freestyle, and 1500m freestyle swims at the Trials.

The American silver medalist in the 2012 London Olympics won today’s Flowers International 5 km race over Heather Maitland of Canada and Luane Rowe of Australia. The results were as follows:

1. Haley Anderson 1:02:10
2. Heather Maitland 1:03:00
3. Luane Rowe 1:03:24
