Goody Tyler completed an Ice Mile in the Great Salt Lake Marine in Utah last week to join the International Ice Swimming Association. One of the founders of the Wasatch Front Polar Bear Club, Tyler is a passionate member of one of the most dedicated winter swimming clubs in the United States.
Tyler kept to his plan even though he entered the hospital today for his first round of chemotherapy as he was diagnosed with cancer last month. His friend and official Ice Swim observer Gordon Gridley said, “Goody wanted something to remember and fill him with hope and pride as he is about to undergo months of sickness and recovery. I’m so honored to be closely associated with him. He is a great example of fight.”
Success was his on December 13th and we trust his fight against cancer will be equally successful.
