Go Mo Go To Achieve The Triple Crown

57-year-old Maureen Mech Montgomery completed a crossing of the English Channel on the shores of France at a steady pace of 82 strokes per minute after an early start at 2:40 am this morning at Samphire Hoe in England.

Tracy Clark and escort pilot Stuart Gleeson helped her cross in 12 hours 30 minutes to achieve the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.

In addition to her various marathon swims throughout the United States (20.1 km Swim Around Key West in Florida in 5 hours 33 minutes 26 + 19.3 km Swim Around Charleston in South Carolina in 5 hours 22 minutes + 37 km Tampa Bay Marathon Swim in Florida in 11 hours 55 minutes + 11.2 km Swim Around Lido Key in Florida in 3 hours 24 minutes + 7 km Coquina Key Invitational Swim in Florida in 2 hours 12 minutes + SCAR Swim Challenge including the 15.2 km Saguaro Lake, 14.4 km Canyon Lake, 27.3 km Apache Lake and 9 km Roosevelt Lake in a cumulative time of 18 hours 2 minutes in Arizona), she completed the 45.9 km 20 Bridges Swim around Manhattan Island in New York City in October 2016 in 8 hours 4 minutes and a 32.3 km crossing of the Catalina Channel from Santa Catalina Island to the California mainland in September 2017 in 11 hours 30 minutes to become a Triple Crowner.

With her successful crossing, she also achieved the Grand Slam of Open Water Swimming.
