Global Brands in Swimming

Spread the love

Red Bull has frequently supported the sport of open water swimming – from sponsoring Stephen Redmond during history’s first Oceans Seven triumph and competitive ocean swims in Mexico to lifeguard competitions organized by Bruckner Chase, circumnavigation swims by Ross Edgley, and the Red Bull Neptune Steps.

Now Red Bull is moving into the much more confined, more standardized, and much more safe confines of 50m pools.

Red Bull has not only started to sponsor Olympic champions like Summer McIntosh of Canada and Daniel Wiffen of Northern Ireland. Additionally, Swimming Canada established a new partnership with Red Bull Canada.

Swimming Canada athletes will have Red Bull logos on their national team uniform.

This is a pivotal moment for Canadian swimming,” said Swimming Canada CEO Suzanne Paulins. “Summer McIntosh and Red Bull Canada have been extremely collaborative in encouraging the federation to think differently about how we support our athletes commercially. This supports the growth and spotlight on Canadian swimming globally and we are excited to offer this opportunity to all national team swimmers in both the Olympic and Paralympic Programs.”

Red Bull Canada Marketing Director Alan Raphael boldly explained, “Red Bull Canada challenges the norm in every space they enter, and we’re excited to work together to elevate Canadian swimming in bold, innovative ways.

This shift supports the growth and global spotlight on Canadian swimming,” said Kyle Johnston, Senior Manager Marketing. “We’re exploring all commercial growth opportunities, and this is an important first step – unlocking new rights that directly support our athletes and position Swimming Canada as a bridge between brands and the broader swimming community.”

Love it when the swimming community and global brands cooperative creatively.
