Gábor Molnár Crawling Down The Körös

Gábor Molnár, an open water swimmer from Hungary who trains with the hard-core in Cork, Ireland, successfully completed his second solo marathon swim down the River Körös in 4 hours 18 minutes.

It was his 20.48 km swim down the River Körös in eastern Hungary.

It was mostly a sunny day as I was escorted by a canoe and an escort boat captained by Gergö Kovács. The conditions were very good with no headwind and feeding every 20 minutes.”

It is always good to go home, but Molnár is a traveler.

He is the first swimmer from Hungary to complete the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming with an English Channel swim in 2010 (14 hours 18 minutes, a Manhattan Island Marathon Swim in 2011 (8 hours 30 minutes), and a Catalina Channel crossing in 2012 (9 hours 48 seconds) to add to his swims in Ireland (Sandycove Island Challenge), Switzerland (International Self-Transcendence Marathon-Schwimmen), and Hungary (Körös River).
