Yesterday in the Netherlands, world champion and Olympic medalist Ranomi Kromowidjojo won the 50m butterfly Swim Cup in The Hague in a record of 25.98.
Her boyfriend Ferry Weertman was in the stands cheering for her, appreciating her incredible speed, along with fellow open water swimming teammate Marcel Schouten [see above].
It will not be long before the fastest pair in the planet are switching roles and Kromowidjojo will be pulling for Weertman to defend his world title in the 10 km marathon swim at the 2019 FINA World Swimming Championships in South Korea – and he is going to need plenty of closing speed to beat his chief rivals like he did at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games:
