Fast And Frozen Finish A First

Fast and Frozen is nominated for the World Open Water Swimming Performance of the Year for its unprecedented 2-way North Channel crossing between Northern Ireland and Scotland in 29 hours 57 minutes, escorted by Pádraig Mallon’s Infinity Channel Swimming.

Its members included Henri Kaarma (Estonia), Ryan Stramrood (South Africa), Anna Carin-Nordin (Sweden), Patrick Corcoran (Ireland), Zdeněk Thalmika (Czech Republic), and Elina Makïnen (Finland) who took 15 hours 46 minutes to swim from Northern Ireland to Scotland and 14 hours 13 minutes to swim back. Each team member swam five 1-hour legs with the exception of Makïnen’s fifth and final leg at 57 minutes.
