Erika Beauchamp enjoyed a large pod of dolphins towards the end of her Catalina Channel crossing yesterday. She was classically Walkerized [see video below taken by her husband Jeremy onboard the Bottom Scratcher].
The Catalina Channel Swimming Federation reported on her 14 hour 14 minute crossing, “Erika and her kayaker Kim Rapp, who kayaked the entire swim, are both breast cancer survivors. Erika is raising funds through Swim Across America for cancer research. Erika pushed through almost two hours of dizziness and nausea during the night to make a remarkable recovery for a strong finish.
Erika was supported onboard the Bottom Scratcher by her husband Jeremy while Don Van Cleve and Sarah Wicht served as the Catalina Channel Swimming Federation observers.
