Egor Tropeano and Elena Edatti Pioneer 25 km Coastal Swim between Dino Island and Cirella Island

Egor Tropeano, Elena Edatti, and a relay with Francesco MannaAlfredo PorcaroFabrizio PosterivoMatteo Mazzotta, and Ivan Favretto pioneered a 25 km coastal swim on September 13th between Dino Island and Cirella Island, passing along the most beautiful coastline of Riviera dei Cedri in Calabria in southern Italy.

Tropeano finished first in 5 hours 19 minutes. He was followed by the Manna-Porcaro-Posterivo-Mazzotta-Favretto relay that finished in 6 hours 32 minutes. Edatti completed the course in 7 hours 0 minutes during the Diamante Peperoncino Festival.

They all started at 9:00 am from Lido Caporena in Praia a Mare. They first passed Dino Island, then the spectacular Arcomagno of San Nicola Arcella, continuing along Scalea, Santa Maria del Cedro, Grisolia and Diamante, until they finally reached Cirella Island.

The conditions in the 27°C water were a bit bumpy in the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The event was organized by Aqa Swimming Club in collaboration with Italian Swimming Federation that provided the official observer Maria Posteraro.
