Drury Gallagher, the only person to be inducted in both the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame and the International Masters Hall of Fame, typically gave praise to others – from Tom Hetzel to Morty Berger – during his humble acceptance speech at the United Nations of his induction into the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame. With 27 world masters records to his name, his legacy in the marathon swimming world is also cemented due to his leadership and vision of the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim.
