Dr Peter Attia Is Driven To The Extreme

The Peter Attia Drive, Dr. Peter Attia, is a weekly podcast where the channel swimmer focusing on maximizing health, longevity, well-being, human life extension, critical thinking and topics such as fasting, ketosis, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, mental health, and more.

In addition to training with masters swimming groups and swimming between Hawaiian islands and across the Catalina Channel, Dr. Attia is primarily a deep-thinking Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University and National Institute of Health-trained physician who splits his time between San Diego and New York.

Originally from Canada, Dr. Attia also spends time on the high-tech and medical lecture circuit appearing at events from TED Talks to interviews on the Tim Ferriss Show.

The extreme athlete pushes himself physiologically in all his various sporting endeavors from marathon swims to tough workouts in the gym and on century bike rides. Besides going beyond the normal or expected as an athlete, he consistently measures and analyzes all sorts of physiological data in the course of his self-experimentation and research. This background and advice helps his patients make decisions and significantly influence the actions of like-minded, far forward-thinking adventurists and athletes.

In latest episode of The Peter Attia Drive, Dr. Attia talked with Robert Sapolsky, Ph.D. about the pervasive effect of stress and its impact on physical and emotional health. The pair discuss the mechanisms by which stress can precipitate chronic illness, dementia, and depression.
