In 1994 when Dr. Otto Thaning went to England to swim the English Channel.
“I remember going down to the post office to send him a telegram,” said Lewis Pugh. “To wish him luck. This coming week, I will be tweeting and Facebooking it live. How times have changed.”
This week, Dr. Thaning is now in Dover again. This time to attempt to cross the Channel as a 72-year-old.
