14 hours and 18 minutes of non-stop butterfly…across the English Channel. That is only one example of what Dr. Julie Bradshaw MBE has done in her lengthy marathon swimming career.

Amazingly, but not surprisingly for Dr. Bradshaw, she did not break her stroke once while doing that butterfly crossing. Gifted with the ability to avoid swallowing water while swimming butterfly despite rough conditions, she tells – and is – an incredible story.

Among her many marathon swims around the world, she completed the first triple crossing of Loch Ness, taking 32 hours and 34 minutes. She became a member of the Order of the British Empire in 2006 for her Services to Swimming and Charity.

Back on terra firma, Dr. Bradshaw utilizes her successes in the water to help others from all walks of life and hundreds of English channel-swimming aspirants around the world. Through her work as the Honorary Secretary for the Channel Swimming Association and her motivational business called Get Set 4 Success, she enables people to believe in their own potential and expand their horizons.

Listen to her inspirational story of a pioneer, a motivator, an enabler and a marathon swimming legend on WOWSA Live.
