Double Roughwater Returns To Waikiki

A day after the Waikiki Roughwater Swim, some very good open water swimming news hit the Hawaiian Islands.

Last year was only the second time in 35 years that the wintertime “Double Roughwater” race was not held.

Jim Anderson, founder and race director of the 7 km Possibly Annual Hawaiian Christmas Looong Distance Invitational Rough-H2O Swim (also known locally as the Double Roughwater) cancelled the race like in 2007.

But the future of the Looong Distance Swim will continue according to Anderson. “The application for the 2016 Looong Distance Swim is now available at www.longdistanceswim.com.”
