Doing Different Things, Melissa Gorman Eyes London

Along with her fellow 2008 Olympian Ky Hurst, Melissa Gorman ticked off another requirement on her way to return to the Olympics in London. Melissa won the 10K at the Australian Open Water Championships at the Sydney International Regatta Centre to secure her place at the 2011 World Swimming Championships in Shanghai.

After winning her fourth consecutive Australian 10K title by more than four minutes, she has her sights set on finishing in the top 10 in Shanghai to qualify for London. Melissa won in 1:59.03, from New Zealander Cara Baker (2:03.55) and fellow Aussie Danielle DeFrancesco (2:04.04).

That was a really good swim. I have been doing a few different things outside of the pool for the last six weeks and they seem to be working.”

And she is going to continue keeping it working.
