With the beginning of the 2027 in the World Aquatics Open Water Swimming World Cup season already coming up on November 6th – 7th in Cancun, Mexico, time seems like it is flying fast towards the LA28 Olympic 10 km open water swim.
As a result of the four World Cup races in Somabay, Egypt in March, Ibiza, Spain in April, Golfo Aranci, Italy in May and Setúbal Bay, Portugal in June that were held during the 2026 season, the final World Cup rankings were announced by World Aquatics.
David Betlehem (22, Hungary, World Aquatics bio here, @betlehemdavid) proved he was the crème de la crème and is one of the odd-on favorites as the Olympic gold medalist at the LA28 Olympic Games.
