Dan Is Ready, Willing and Abel

Dan Abel is the founder and head swim coach with Fit & Abel. He is an open water swimming coach from New Zealand and the UK. He created sportive swimming through RealSwim Adventures and has completed two Oceans Seven channels to date.

He also organizes the 6-race Funky Trunks and Funkita Race Series that includes the following race for the 2020-2021 season. Although the first race in Lake Rua in December 2020 was cancelled, the subsequent races were held – and the last race will be held next Wednesday in Corsair Bay on February 10th.

The Lake Rua race on December 19th 2020 saw Lily Greenwood win in 8:12.1 with Charlotte Chiles second in 8:43.6 and Michael Johnson third at 8:55.7.

The Naval Point race on January 13th 2021 saw Lily Greenwood win in 7:11.5 with Charlotte Chiles second in 7:36.3 and Olli Aitken third at 7:37.4.

The Corsair Bay race on January 20th 2021 saw Lily Greenwood win in 7:09.6 with Bex Hurley second in 7:47.7 and Charlotte Chiles third in 7:50.5.

The Corsair Bay race on January 27th 2021 saw Alex Yee win in 6:52.8 with Charlotte Chiles second in 7:26.2 and Fergus Farrell in 7:29.7.

The Corsair Bay race on February 3rd 2021 saw Alice Barnes win in 10:08.6 with Niamh Cooper second in 10:53.3 and Lily Mcclure third in 10:55.5.
